Anthropic ships Claude Opus 5, its new flagship model

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5, positioned at near-frontier intelligence, as its new flagship. Alongside the launch it removed more than 80% of Claude Code's system prompt, stating the model no longer needs the scaffolding to behave correctly.
